Eight suspects were arrested while 100 rounds of live 7.62x 39 ammunition and hard drugs were recovered during a raid on some black spots in Abuja by operatives of the FCT police command.

CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who disclosed this to journalists on Saturday evening, said other exhibits recovered included a large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and a substantial amount of encapsulated illicit drugs.

He said the raid was conducted by the operatives of the Anti-Narcotics unit of the command, adding that areas raided included those in Wuse Zone 5 Access Bank, AYA roundabout, Lugbe Federal Housing, by Tipper Garage and SDP junction, Gwagwalada.

He said the eight suspects were arrested when they attempted to escape during the raid.
