The commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) representing the FCT, Musa Dikko, has called on staff of the commission to refrain from sharing confidential notes with complainants or respondents.

Dikko make the call when he held his first review meeting with the staff of the commission at its head office in Abuja, on Wednesday.

He said the first review meeting with the commission’s staff focused on the importance of professionalism and confidentiality in handling cases.

He said it is illegal for outsiders to have access to sensitive documents, emphasising that maintaining confidentiality is crucial to the integrity of the commission’s operations.

He said the meeting provided a platform for various units to discuss their ongoing cases, adding that he has provided guidance that will encourage staff to collaborate with their unit heads anytime they face uncertainties in their work.

“As public servants, it is our duty to handle all cases with the utmost professionalism and confidentiality. Any breach of this trust undermines the work we do here,” Dikko remarked during the review.

The PCC commissioner also urged the staff to improve their communication with unit heads, ensuring they seek clarification on any areas where they need further understanding or guidance.

He said his first case review meeting with the commission staff signaled a strong commitment to ensuring that the FCT Public Complaints Commission (PCC) operates with transparency, accountability and the highest standards of legal and ethical conduct.
