A House of Representatives member for Abuja-South Federal Constituency, Abdulrahman Ajiya, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for the approval of the establishment of Abuja Polytechnic, Gwarinpa, Abuja.
Ajiya, who spoke with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, while reacting to the approval of the polytechnic, said his proposal was, however, for the polytechnic to be sited in Kuje Area Council.
‘I’m delighted that the federal government has approved the First Federal Polytechnic in the FCT to be located in Gwarinpa, Abuja. Although my proposal was for the polytechnic to be established in Kuje, as sponsored in my Bill – 2024 (HB.1916), this development is still a significant win for our territory, as we are now going to have one federal polytechnic in the FCT,” he said.
He appreciated the unwavering support and prayers for people of the FCT, especially those of his constituency.
The lawmaker also commended the FCT minister for the ongoing infrastructural development in satellite towns across the six area councils of the FCT as well as the ongoing construction work on the proposed University of Science and Technology in Abaji.
He, therefore, called on the people of his constituency to continue to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the FCT minister for more initiatives that would be of benefit to the constituency and the entire FCT.
Recall that President Tinubu had, on Tuesday, approved the establishment of a polytechnic to be sited in Gwarinpa, one of the largest estates in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
The new institution was also named after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
