Police Public Relations Officer SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said both the boyfriend, Khalid Hussain, 20, aka Baffa of Dorayi Quartets, and his fiancee, Khadija Hassan, 18, of Charanchi Quarters are being detained at the Anti-Daba (Anti-Thuggery) department of the command.
He said the lecturer, Aliyu Hamza Abdullahi, had filed a complaint with the police, and that investigation is ongoing as the perpetrators would not go scot-free.
It was gathered that the attack was allegedly orchestrated by the female student and her boyfriend, whom she invited to the office of the lecturer she claimed was an obstacle to her academic aspirations.
