The Emir of Bauchi, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu, has praised the Jos Polo Club and its partner, the Hanger Project, for their impactful initiatives aimed at supporting the less privileged, orphans, widows, and disabled persons in Jos and its environs during the polo tournament period.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the recently concluded 2024/2025 Jos International Polo Tournament, the royal father lauded the partners for their efforts in enhancing the educational and health well-being of vulnerable groups. He urged other individuals and corporate bodies to emulate this noble gesture and extend similar support to those in need.

Tanko Ayuba, First Vice President of the Nigeria Polo Federation (NPF), reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to leveraging the goodwill of polo to benefit society. He emphasized polo’s unique role as a family sport that aligns seamlessly with charitable initiatives.

For three consecutive years, Jos Polo and the Hanger Project have hosted a special Christmas Day party for the less privileged, a hallmark event preceding the polo tournament. Hanger Project spokesperson Alison Allanso expressed delight at the turnout, which included children, widows, physically challenged persons, and internally displaced individuals. Allanso also thanked donors for their support and appealed for continued contributions to make it possible to host the event twice annually.

The 2024/2025 polo tournament began on December 28, featuring over 30 teams nationwide. Malcomines Polo Team, Crown Club & Resort Team, Minna Profile, and Katsina Aldusar emerged as champions.
