The Minority Leader of the 9th Senate, Senator Philip Aduda, who represented the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has felicitated Christians and the residents of the territory at Christmas.

In a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Monday, in Abuja, Aduda urged Christians to use the festive season to pray for unity, peace and prosperity of the FCT and Nigeria at large.

He also advised all citizens to show love and care to one another, which he said is the main reason for the season.

Aduda also called on the residents to further “rededicate themselves to service to God and humanity which is in line with the teachings of our lord Jesus Christ that is anchored on tolerance, patience, love kindness and genuine care for the needy.”

“The lesson of the birth of Jesus Christ, as explained in the Holy Bible, is a demonstration of love, selflessness and total commitment to saving mankind,” he said.

Aduda, also commended the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, for his selfless service through the ongoing infrastructural development across the FCT, while calling on residents to support the minister to continue delivering democratic dividends to the residents of the FCT.

He also appealed to all communities in the FCT to continue to be security conscious and support security operatives in tackling any form of security challenges in their domains.

The former senator commiserated with families that lost their loved ones in the stampede at the Catholic Church in Maitama.

He enjoined the general public to be more organised when partaking in any good gesture that is made possible by people with intentions borne out of empathy and love.
