Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, announced a strategic partnership between the state and China to enhance e-government systems, focusing on improving efficiency, public security and transparency in public service.

The governor on Tuesday said the initiative would support his administration in establishing a fully functional e-government while modernising education, healthcare, talent development, and promoting the use of renewable energy.

The announcement followed the strengthening of bilateral ties between Nigeria and China, which have now evolved into a comprehensive strategic partnership.

Governor Sani highlighted his excitement about Kaduna’s involvement in the “Smart city” project, which aligns with Nigeria’s broader goal of industrialisation.

Governor Sani noted that Kaduna State, which has a population exceeding five million and is predominantly agrarian, stands to benefit significantly from the smart city project.

The initiative, in collaboration with Chinese tech giant Huawei, is expected to deliver extensive advantages not only to the people of Kaduna but also to the entire Northern region of Nigeria.

Additionally, the governor revealed plans to leverage Nigeria’s strengthened ties with China to attract more investments to Kaduna.
