New York Governor Kathy Hochul has said that her state will begin implementing a congestion pricing system – the first in the US – from January 5. Most drivers will now have to pay $9 (Rs 760) to enter some of New York’s most famous neighbourhoods including the theatre district, Times Square and SoHo. Cities such as London, Singapore, Milan and Stockholm have all introduced congestion pricing. Experts say there is much to be learned from their experiences
