The Maruti Alto K10 now comes with 6 airbags as standard across the range. Prices of the Alto K10 have increased by up to Rs 16,000, depending on the variant, with the update. Maruti has also changed the names of the Alto K10's variants, removing the (O) suffix across the range. However, there are no mechanical updates – the 67hp, 1.0-litre petrol engine that's E20 fuel compatible, with its manual and AMT options, continues, as does the factiry-fit CNG version.

Maruti Suuzki says that since the Alto arrived in India way back in 2000, the brand has sold over 46 lakh units of the budget hatchback. Maruti Suzuki's senior marketing and sales executive, Partho Banerjee, also said that 74 percent of Alto K10 buyers are first-timers.
