Simple Energy has updated its One electric scooter, which now has a 248km claimed IDC range. The company hasn’t increased prices and the One continues to be priced at Rs 1.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).

The Simple One has a total battery capacity of 5kWh, which is split into two packs - a 3.7kWh fixed unit and a portable 1.3kWh pack. The company has achieved the increased 248km range number via some nifty electronic trickery and a more efficient drivetrain. The rest of the scooter remains the same mechanically. At 136kg, the Simple One is one of the heavier electric scooters available and with a 796mm seat height, it is also one of the taller ones.
Some new features that have been bundled in with this update include a tire pressure monitoring system, regenerative braking and a USB charging port. Currently, Simple has a small network of just 10 dealerships across the country but the company says that it plans to open 150 showrooms and 200 service stations across the country by end-FY2026.
