Audi RS Q8 SUV

Audi India has confirmed the launch date of its RS Q8 facelift on February 17. There's also a more powerful RS Q8 Performance variant on sale in the UK and it remains to be seen which of the two comes here. Notably, the 2025 RS Q8 Performance holds the title of the quickest production SUV yet around the Nurburgring (in Germany), showcasing its track-focused credentials.

  1. Audi currently sells the standard Q8 SUV in the country
  2. Rivals include the Lamborghini Urus SE, Porsche Cayenne GTS SUVs

Not much seems to be changed compared to the previous RS Q8 that was on sale earlier and courtesy of the facelift comes a bold exterior design that distinguishes it from the standard Q8. Its refreshed black grille with a 3D honeycomb pattern and the carbon-fibre elements on the front lip and air vents give it an aggressive look. For illumination, Audi has added LED Matrix headlights and OLED taillights. The car comes standard with 22-inch alloy wheels, but 23-inch ones are available as an option. Audi has not yet commented on offering the larger wheels.

The dual-screen centre console allows easy access to RS drive modes as well. There’s four-zone climate control on offer for rear passengers.

Audi RS Q8 facelift engine specs, 0-100kph time

The range-topping Perfromance trim is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 640hp and 850Nm of torque, 40hp and 50Nm more than the regular RS Q8 SUV. This mill allows the RS Q8 Performance to accelerate from 0-100kph in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of over 305kph. The integration of a 48V mild-hybrid system further boosts acceleration. For reference, the standard Audi Q8 comes with a 3-litre turbo petrol engine that puts out 340hp and 500Nm, less by respective 300hp and 350Nm.

For handling stability, it features active roll stabilisation, all-wheel steering and Adaptive Air Suspension Sport. The new Quattro Sport differential also works to reduce body roll or understeer and for a detailed report on the SUV’s performance, click here.

Audi RS Q8 facelift rivals, price expectations

The Audi RS Q8 Performance competes with high-performance SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus SE and Porsche Cayenne GTS in India. Considering the Rs 1.7 crore price tag (without options) of the Audi Q8, the German carmaker may price the RS Q8 Performance for around Rs 2 crore.
