BMW India has updated its M340i performance sedan, and it is now priced at Rs 74.9 lakh. Bookings for the updated and locally assembled BMW M340i can be made from today onwards at BMW’s website and the brand’s dealerships across the country.
While there aren’t many mechanical changes – the M340i continues to be powered by the 374hp, 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid assist – the performance sedan now gets the adaptive suspension as standard. BMW claims the the ride height can be lowered by 10mm and that the M340i is the quickest ICE car built in India, accelerating from 0-100kph in just 4.4 seconds.
On the inside, the updated M340i gets new Vernasca leather seats covers with M stitching, and what BMW calls the ‘Widescreen Curved Display’ – which incorporates a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster – gets the latest 8.5 operating system. In addition, the AC vents also see a slight tweak to their design and get new knobs to make adjustments.
Finally, BMW also now offers the M340i in two new colour options – Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red – to the previously available Dravit Grey and Black Sapphire, which brings the total number of colours on offer to four. No other changes have been made to the M340i, whether in terms of features and safety or design. As always, buyers can opt for a bevy of optional M Performance accessories to customise and personalise their car.
Prices for the BMW M340i have increased by Rs 2 lakh with the updates, up from Rs 72.9 lakh. The sporty sedan rivals the Mercedes-AMG C 43 (Rs 98.25 lakh) and the Audi S5 (Rs 77.32 lakh-83.6 lakh) in India.
