KTM 1290 Super Adventure S details

In terms of aesthetics, KTM has kept the Super Adventure S’s bold and aggressive stance, with only one colour currently on offer. It features a large 23 litre fuel tank and a large fairing that covers the engine and helps channel airflow. It gets a split seat setup and has a seat height of 869mm which can be further lowered by 20mm. It’s also equipped with full LED lighting and an LED headlamp that shrouds its radar sensor.

The KTM 1290 Super Adventure S comes equipped with an updated 1,301cc V-twin engine, delivering 160hp at 9,000rpm and 138Nm at 6,500rpm. It rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel that’s equipped with a 320mm dual disc setup at the front and a 267mm disc at the rear. Suspension duties are taken care of by a WP semi-active USD fork at the front and a WP semi-active monoshock at the rear.

The 2024 Super Adventure S is equipped with a whole host of advanced electronics which includes features like riding modes, lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS and adaptive cruise control. Other practical features include a quick-access storage compartment, USB charging port, and heated grips.

KTM is rolling out the new 1290 Super Adventure S at a starting price of around Rs 22.74 lakh, placing it in the premium segment of the Indian adventure motorcycle market. This bike will be available at all new KTM flagship stores in seven cities, starting with Bangalore and Pune. It will rival the Ducati Multistrada V4, Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro and the BMW R 1300 GS.

Demo mode

It is worth noting that KTM will be selling these with the 'Demo mode' which is a pay to enable feature. KTM promotes demo mode as an opportunity to test out optional features while riding, allowing riders to decide which ones they want or don’t need, rather than making those choices in a dealership without any riding experience. This feature will allow you to experience all electronic aids and features for the first 1500km after which riders will have to pay to keep the features they like. This includes features like multiple ride modes, including an optional Rally mode, traction control and slide control, a quickshifter for both up and downshifts, and cruise control, among other features. These features can be unlocked permanently at the dealership at a certain price. However, these prices haven’t yet been revealed by KTM.

All prices mentioned above are ex-showroom, India.
