Tata Motors recently introduced an update for the Punch, bringing along some new features and introducing a variant rejig. Here, we answer some of the most frequently asked questions about the updated Tata Punch.

What are the new variants on offer with the updated Punch?

The Tata Punch is no longer available in Pure Rhythm, Accomplished, Accomplished SR and Creative Flagship trims. While the entry-level Pure, Adventure and Adventure Rhythm are unchanged, the SUV gets new variants such as Pure (O), Adventure S and Adventure + S. In addition, the Accomplished Dazzle and Creative variants have been slightly rejigged. The number of CNG-powered Punch variants has increased from five to seven. What new features does the updated Tata Punch get?

The updated Tata Punch gets a new 10.25 inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, replacing the 7.0-inch unit seen previously. There's also a new wireless charger, as well as a new front armrest with storage and integrated rear AC vents. Features such as an electric sunroof, projector headlamps with DRLs, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, rear armrest have all been retained.


What powertrains are on offer with the updated Punch?

The Punch carries over its 1.2-litre, three-cylinder NA petrol engine that puts out 86hp and 113Nm peak torque. The 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes remain unchanged. There's also a CNG version with a 5-speed manual gearbox, just like before. The Punch CNG does not get an AMT option like the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG. 

How much does the updated Tata Punch cost?

The pricing for the updated Tata Punch starts from Rs 6.13 lakh, going all the way up to Rs 10 lakh. While the base price of the Punch is unchanged, the top-spec trim’s price has reduced by about Rs 20,000 from Rs 10.20 lakh. The CNG variants are now priced from Rs 7.23 lakh to Rs 9.90 lakh.

What colour options are on offer with the updated Punch?

The entry-level Pure variants are available in Orcus White and Daytona Grey finishes only, while the the Adventure and Adventure Rhythm also add Tropical Mist colour option. The sunroof-equipped Adventure additionally get a Calypso Red paint shade, and the Accomplished variants are also available in Meteor Bronze. The Creative variants are available in five dual-tone paint schemes, with the Meteor Bronze being replaced by Tornado Blue.
