Member of Parliament, Kota Srinivas Poojary visited the site where two minors were caught allegedly stealing iron materials from the railway tracks at Avaralu Mattu, Palimaru village to investigate the matter.

A Konkan Railway gangman caught the children, who were on their way to school, allegedly stealing iron materials from the railway tracks. He allegedly hit one boy on the head and the other on the left leg with a stick. A video of the incident surfaced on social media.

After the video went viral, the police registered a case against the railway staff member for assaulting the minors.

Poojary, after visiting the location and conducting an inspection, expressed support for the railway staff member, stating, “Our railway staff member has prevented a major accident, saving the lives of several passengers. I commend their courage and have urged that the case against them be withdrawn.” He further called for a thorough investigation into the individuals behind the attempted theft.

Additionally, authorities have begun taking legal action against the parents of the children for providing them with a two-wheeler. The Konkan Railway Legal Division is also set to take action regarding the theft of the iron materials. Since the case involves minors, it will be handled in accordance with the Supreme Court’s guidelines and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). Police officials have stated that any violations will lead to appropriate legal measures.
