Bengaluru: A police sub-inspector (PSI) from Ramamurthy Nagar, along with his girlfriend and her brother, has been booked for allegedly assaulting his mother after she questioned his extramarital affair. The case has been registered at the KR Puram police station.
According to the complaint filed by Mangalamma, a resident of Doddaballapura and the mother of PSI Manjunath, the accused individuals include Manjunath’s girlfriend, Basavajyoti, and her brother, Basavaprabhu.
PSI Manjunath was married to Anita Kumari in 2011, and the couple has two children. However, he allegedly developed an illicit relationship with Basavajyoti. Despite repeated warnings from his mother, Manjunath refused to end the affair.
On February 16, Mangalamma, along with her two daughters, visited Basavajyoti’s house and urged her to leave her son. In response, Basavajyoti allegedly called Manjunath, who arrived and confronted his mother and sisters. He then physically assaulted his mother. During the altercation, Basavajyoti’s brother, Basavaprabhu, also attacked them.
Following the incident, Mangalamma filed a police complaint, seeking legal action against her son and his accomplices. Investigations are underway.
