Udupi: A 32-year-old musician was found dead in a room of his house near Vidyodaya School, Bailakere, on Wednesday (Feb 19).

The deceased has been identified as Ashwath (32), son of Ramakrishna Devadiga from Bailakere. He was a percussion artist. The reason behind his suicide remains unknown.

Shortly after the incident, social worker Nityananda Olakadu and Sunil Bailakere rushed to rescue Ashwath. They immediately shifted him to Ajjarkad District Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A case has been registered at Udupi Town Police Station, and an investigation is ongoing. ASI Subhash Kamath, Head Constable Harish Mal, and officer Jayakar completed the necessary legal formalities.
