Udupi: The Vishva Geetha Paryaya initiated by Sri Sugunendra Thirtha Swamiji of Sri Puthige Matha, Udupi, alongside his successor Sri Sushreendra Thirtha Swamiji , has successfully completed one year as of January 18, 2025.

Over the past year, various religious, cultural, and social activities were organized under the Vishva Geetha Paryaya initiative. These included the distribution of food (Anna Santarpane) and knowledge-sharing programs. The Swamiji performed dedicated worship of Lord Krishna Mukhyaprana in line with the spiritual vows of the Paryaya.

One of the key highlights of the initiative was the “Koti Gita Lekhana Yajna,” a massive undertaking encouraging devotees to write the Bhagavad Gita. This unique effort received an overwhelming response, with lakhs of participants joining the mission globally.

Prominent personalities from various fields such as politics, business, cinema, and sports visited the Udupi Sri Krishna Matha during the year and received Geetha Deeksha from the Swamiji. Distinguished individuals from abroad also participated in the spiritual event. The Swamiji has announced that the Geetha Deeksha and other religious activities will continue into the second year, providing devotees further opportunities to partake in the spiritual journey.
