The BJP State President, BY Vijayendra, launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in Karnataka, citing the recent surge in criminal activities as evidence of deteriorating law and order in the state. Referring to two high-profile robberies within 48 hours, he claimed the government’s inefficiency has led to chaos and fear among citizens.

On Thursday, armed assailants attacked CMS company staff in Bidar in broad daylight, looting ₹93 lakh. The very next day, a daring robbery at Kotekaru Cooperative Society on KC Road in Talapady, Ullal, resulted in the theft of ₹12 crore. Vijayendra alleged that border districts of Karnataka are becoming hotspots for such organized crimes.

“The current state of Karnataka sends a dangerous message that the state is a safe haven for mafias, rapists, dacoits, and terrorists. This reflects the government’s failure in maintaining law and order,” Vijayendra said. He added that the state’s reputation as a peaceful state is under threat, and it risks being labeled as “Criminal Karnataka,” causing widespread concern among its people.

Vijayendra accused the Congress government of being inactive despite a rise in crimes, including rape, murder, robbery, and extortion. “People are losing trust in the safety of their money, gold, and assets. If banks themselves are targeted, how can the government assure the safety of citizens’ lives and property?” he questioned.

Calling for immediate action, Vijayendra urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take control of the Home Department and implement effective measures to ensure public safety. He warned that continued inaction would force citizens to protest against the government and demand its ousting.

“The Chief Minister must act decisively to reassure citizens and restore the state’s law and order. Failure to do so will only escalate public outrage and create a situation where people will fight to remove this government from power,” Vijayendra stated.
