A foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of a Sri Ram Temple will be held on January 22 in Harohalli, Mysuru Taluk. The stone used for carving the idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya was sourced from this location, making it a significant site for the temple’s construction.

The stone used by sculptor Arun Yogiraj to carve the idol of Balarama was found on the farmland of Ramadas. This discovery brought the site into the limelight. During the installation ceremony of the Balarama idol, promises were made by the public and political leaders to build a temple at the site where the stone was found.

Although the foundation stone was initially laid on January 22 last year, the project lost momentum over time. However, Ramadas, the landowner, has continued to worship the spot where the stone was found and is now determined to proceed with constructing a small temple, with the foundation ceremony scheduled for January 22.

MLA G.T. Devegowda Visits the Site

MLA G.T. Devegowda recently visited the site and discussed the upcoming ceremony with Ramadas. On January 22, an image of Sri Ram will be inscribed on the stone used to carve the Balarama idol, and a special prayer will be conducted. Devegowda informed “Udayavani” that plans will be drawn up for the temple’s construction.
