Mysuru: The Janata Dal (Secular) [JDS] will elect its new state president through internal elections, said senior leader and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Kumaraswamy clarified that the appointment of Nikhil Kumaraswamy as the state president is not currently under discussion within the party. The decision regarding the internal election will be made at the party meeting scheduled for January 12.
“We will deliberate on the internal election process and finalize the selection of a new state president through voting,” Kumaraswamy stated.
Strength and Unity
Responding to the ongoing Operation Hasta speculations, Kumaraswamy said, “The Congress knows the strength of our 18 MLAs, which is why such attempts persist. However, our party remains united, as even MLA Harish Gowda affirmed. Our legislators have held discussions in Belagavi and stand firmly with the party.”
