A 48-year-old man sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a tiger while he was working in his plantation in Kodagu’s Ponnampet Taluk.

The victim, identified as Rajan, a local resident sustained injuries to his ear and head in the attack. Fortunately, the tiger fled after hearing Rajan’s cries for help. He was rushed to Virajpet Hospital for treatment.

State Wildlife Board member Poovayya and forest officials visited the location to inquire about Rajan’s condition. Meanwhile, Virajpet MLA and Chief Minister’s legal advisor A.S. Ponnanna contacted the forest officials and instructed them to take immediate action to capture the tiger.

The incident has created a tense atmosphere in the village, with farmers and workers reluctant to enter the plantations. Residents have demanded the immediate capture of the tiger.
