Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court, on Tuesday, heard a petition requesting a transfer of the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The court has directed the Lokayukta police to submit details of the investigation conducted so far by November 25, and it has postponed further hearing to November 26.
The petition, filed by Snehamayi Krishna, seeks a CBI probe into the MUDA scam. Senior advocate K.G. Raghavan, representing Snehamayi Krishna, argued before the court for the case to be handed over to the CBI.
The bench, led by Justice Nagaprasanna, took up the petition, issuing a notice to both the CBI and the Lokayukta police, instructing the Lokayukta police to provide a detailed report on the progress of their investigation by November 25.
State prosecutor B.N. Jagadeesh requested a two-week extension to complete the investigation. The High Court has also issued notices to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi, Mallikarjuna Swamy, and Devaraju in relation to the case.
