In a tragic incident reported from Rampura Moonj in the Chaubia police station area of Etawah, a 75-year-old farmer was fatally beaten by his own son. The victim has been identified as Taran Singh. The incident occurred on Thursday night when the son, Manoj, returned home under the influence of alcohol.

According to reports, Manoj demanded money from his father. When Taran Singh refused, Manoj became enraged and attacked him with a solid object, inflicting severe injuries, as per reports.

By the time family members and neighbors arrived after hearing cries for help, Manoj had fled the scene. The seriously injured Taran Singh was being rushed to the hospital by family members when he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Following the murder, the accused Manoj surrendered himself at Chaubia police station.

Rakesh Singh, the deceased's nephew, revealed that Taran Singh had taken a loan of 1.5 lakh rupees from a bank for medical treatment. He had been repeatedly pleading with his only son Manoj to help repay the loan, but Manoj wouldn't listen to his father.

"When we heard screams coming from the house, family members and neighbors rushed there to find my uncle in critical condition. We were taking him to the hospital when he died on the way," Rakesh said.

Police reached the spot after being informed. After brutally assaulting his father, Manoj went to the police and surrendered himself.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and are taking legal action based on Rakesh's complaint.
