Mumbai: Starting June 1, 2025, passengers arriving at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will have access to prepaid auto rickshaw services at Terminals T-1 and T-2.

Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced the initiative after a review meeting at Vidhan Bhavan, emphasizing that the service aims to enhance convenience and reduce travel hassles for commuters.

The minister has directed the transport department and representatives of the Adani Group, which manages CSMIA, to establish the necessary infrastructure within two months to ensure a seamless rollout.

“The prepaid auto rickshaw service will offer passengers a hassle-free and transparent commuting option. The Adani Group must coordinate with the transport department to launch this service on time,” Sarnaik said.

Sindhudurg to Get Midi Buses for Better Connectivity

During the meeting, Minister for Fisheries and Ports Nitesh Rane raised concerns about the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) services in Sindhudurg, highlighting the region’s mountainous terrain and heavy reliance on public transport.

He urged the transport minister to introduce midi buses to improve connectivity and prevent inconvenience to passengers. Minister Sarnaik assured that necessary steps would be taken to strengthen MSRTC services in the district.

Nashik’s Mela Bus Stand to be Revamped in a Month

In Nashik, MLA Devyani Farande brought attention to deteriorating conditions at bus stations, especially the newly constructed Mela Bus Stand. Issues such as poor maintenance of restrooms and station premises were highlighted in a memorandum submitted to the minister.

Responding to the concerns, Minister Sarnaik instructed MSRTC officials to resolve all issues at the Mela Bus Stand within a month. Additionally, he assured that the development of the highway bus stand would be considered under the Simhastha Fund at the government level to ensure long-term improvements.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including former minister Gajanan Kirtikar, Transport Commissioner, and MSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director (Acting) Vivek Bhimanwar, along with officials from Nashik and Sindhudurg districts.
