An auto-rickshaw driver smashed a car window and abused the family occupying it after a collision at Shalimar Square in Nashik. The incident took place on Friday at 2pm. The video of this entire brawl quickly went viral on various social media platforms. Taking cognizance of this incident, Bhadrakali Police took suo motu action and arrested the auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Mazhar Anwar Khan (a resident of Kathada, Old Nashik). His rickshaw has also been seized.

According to the complaint, a car driver from Deolali Camp was going towards Shalimar from Kalidas Kala Mandir. There was a small crowd outside the Shiv Sena office in Shalimar. Here, the car hit Khan's auto-rickshaw. Due to this, he got out of the rickshaw and cursed and abused the car driver in obscene language. After this, some other rickshaw drivers from the vicinity gathered together. Among them, Khan's accomplice and others created a commotion. Khan's obscene slurs and loudness scared the car driver. Then, the woman in the car was seen crying and begging for her life. Without showing any humane feelings, Khan abused everyone in the car and broke the car's window.

Even when the driver and the woman accompanying him in the car were pleading, the rickshaw driver allegedly broke the glass of the car. As the crowd gathered, Khan and his accomplice finally retreated. If there had not been a crowd or some well-informed citizens had not intervened, an adverse incident would have taken place at Shalimar.

Meanwhile, Senior Inspector Gajendra Patil of Bhadrakali Police Station took note of the incident and immediately ordered Assistant Inspector Vasant Pawar and his team to take action. After this, Pawar's team detained the rickshaw driver along with the rickshaw and brought him to the police station. He has been arrested and a thorough investigation is underway. A search is also underway for the accomplice.
