Anuppur (Madhya Pradesh): Hindustan Power observed National Safety Week from March 4 to March 11, on its plant campus, hosting a series of programmes aimed at enhancing safety awareness among employees.
The week ended with a closing ceremony on March 12, attended by District Traffic Officer Jyoti Dubey as the chief guest. Dubey spoke on importance of safety in industrial development, highlighting that skilled labour could only be effective if safety protocols are followed.
Plant head and COO, Anand Deshpande, described Safety Week as a festival, asking to follow safety norms. This year’s National Safety Day theme is - Safety and Welfare are Essential for a Developed India. TM Pai, head of the Maintenance Department, spoke on importance of following safety protocols and timely reporting to prevent accidents.
Awards were presented for excellence in safety practices
Bhola Prasad Kushwaha, head of Environmental, Health, and Safety, shared the department’s annual safety performance report. The week also featured competitions like a safety rally, poster contest, quiz, slogan writing, and speech contest, with top performers receiving recognition.

The Boiler Maintenance Department received the Best Safety Model Award, while the Electrical Maintenance and Mills Maintenance departments were honoured for their contributions to safety and housekeeping. The event ended with a note of thanks from the safety department to all participants.
