In a chilling case from Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur, a man was allegedly assaulted and forced to consume poison by his former girlfriend and her associates after he demanded the return of cash and jewellery he had given her during their live-in relationship. The victim, Shailendra Gupta, a medical representative from Mahoba, is currently battling for his life in a hospital, while the accused are on the run.

Four years ago, Shailendra met a woman from Kalipahari village. Their friendship soon blossomed into a romantic relationship, leading them to move in together in a rented house. During their time together, Shailendra showered her with expensive jewellery worth lakhs and transferred approximately ₹4 lakh in cash and online payments. However, things turned sour when the woman allegedly began distancing herself and eventually got involved with another man.

The couple parted ways, but Shailendra’s demand to return the money and jewellery he had given her triggered a violent confrontation. On the day of the incident, Shailendra visited their former rented accommodation to collect his belongings and confront his ex-partner about the financial transactions. What followed was a brutal assault.

The woman, along with her associates – identified as Sadab Beg, Deepak, and Happy – allegedly thrashed Shailendra and forced him to consume poison. He was later found in critical condition and rushed to the district hospital.Adding another layer to this twisted tale, Shailendra has accused the woman and her accomplices of blackmail. He claims they threatened to falsely implicate him in a case if he continued to press for the return of his money and valuables.

The accused have fled the scene, and the police have launched a manhunt to apprehend them. Meanwhile, Shailendra’s condition remains serious as investigations into the case are underway.

This shocking incident has not only exposed the dark side of love and betrayal but also raised concerns about rising cases of financial exploitation in relationships.
