After experiencing a heatwave last week, Mumbai has got a slight relief from the scorching heat. On Sunday, the maximum temperature in the city was recorded 34.2 degrees Celsius and winds gave relief from the humidity. As per Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) weather report for the next 48 hours for Mumbai City and suburbs, the maximum and minimum temperatures will be at 33 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively. The skies are expected to be partly cloudy towards afternoon and evening.

"The weather will continue to stay pleasant this week. Due to early setting of westerly winds, the temperature towards the afternoon are not rising. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain around 34 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius for the next few days," said IMD Mumbai Director, Sunil Kamble.

As per Mumbai's Santacruz observatory weather report for the week (March 16 to 22), the minimum temperature will range from 20 to 23 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature will range from 33 to 35 degrees Celsius.

Notably, due consistent maximum temperature being above 37 degrees Celsius and more than 4.5 degrees above normal, the IMD had declared a heatwave for Mumbai from March 9 to 11. While, the extreme hot and humid conditions remained couple of days after the heatwave. The temperature during the heatwave in Mumbai last week had crossed 39 degrees Celsius, which was one of the highest March temperatures.
