Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav has promised strict action against those responsible for the violent incident in Mauganj, which resulted in the deaths of a police officer and a civilian.
Expressing condolences for Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ramcharan Gautam, CM Yadav took to social media platform X to emphasise on his commitment to law and order.
He announced that Section 163 has been imposed in the area, and senior police officials, including the DIG of Rewa and SP of Mauganj, have been deployed to manage the situation. The injured police personnel have been shifted to Rewa Hospital for treatment.

Heavy police force deployed in area
The incident occurred in Gadara village, Shahpur police station area, when a police team, along with a Tehsildar and SHO, responded to a dispute between two groups. However, the situation escalated, and the villagers turned aggressive, attacking the officers with sticks and stones. Tragically, ASI Ramcharan Gautam lost his life in the retaliatory action.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivek Kumar of Rewa confirmed that the situation is now under control, with a heavy police force deployed in the area. The injured officers are receiving medical treatment at Civil Hospital and Ashirwad Hospital in Mauganj.
CM Yadav has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to personally oversee the case and ensure stringent measures against the perpetrators of this ‘inhuman and unfortunate’ act.
