Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav attended the ‘Holi Ke Rang, Sadhu-Santo Ke Sang’ program organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad at Shri Panchayati Niranjani Akhada on Badnagar Road, Ujjain.
Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav expressed gratitude for the blessings of saints, calling it the greatest achievement of his life. He said, “Ujjain is the land of Lord Mahakal and a center of spirituality, Indian philosophy, religion, mathematics, medicine, warfare, and education. Lord Krishna received his education from Guru Sandipani here and later imparted the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita to the world.”
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that India is becoming a leading nation and Ujjain is being developed as a spiritual capital.
Liquor Ban in Religious Cities from April 1
CM Yadav announced that liquor sales will be banned in Ujjain and other religious cities from April 1. He also highlighted the government's initiative to promote cowsheds (gaushalas) and provide bonuses on milk production, encouraging milk consumption over alcohol.
Warm Welcome from Saints
Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad President Ravindra Puri Ji Maharaj welcomed CM Yadav with gulal and Vedic chants. He assured the saints' full support in making Ujjain India’s cultural capital. Local sarpanches and farmers also met CM Yadav and extended their Holi greetings.
