Former Indian middle-order batter Ambati Rayudu's cryptic tweet about advising cricketers against having paid PR and focusing on cricket went viral on March 13, Thursday. Rayudu's tweet triggered plenty of speculations among the netizens whether it is directed to any current Indian cricketer amid their poor performances, especially with IPL also looming.
Rayudu, who was part of Chennai Super Kings' title-winning campaign in 2018 and 2023 besides, playing a role in Mumbai Indians' multiple successful campaigns, featured for India in 6 T20Is and 55 ODIs. Ambati Rayudu retired from IPL after the 2023 edition
Rayudu, who has featured in 203 matches during his IPL career, finished his career in the lucrative league with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He had announced before the final of the 2023 edition that it would be his last game. The 39-year-old played a fantastic cameo of 19 off eight deliveries with one four and two sixes as the Super Kings won the thrilling final against the Gujarat Titans by five wickets.
The right-hander finished his IPL career with 4348 runs at 28.05 with a solitary hundred. He is likely to be on commentary duty in IPL 2025.
