A fan of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) yelled 'Is baar trophy humaara hai' as hard-hitting batter Rinku Singh was walking off to the dressing room after a practice session on March 13, Wednesday at the Eden Gardens Stadium. A video of the same surfaced on social media as Rinku acknowledged the fan's claim.
The left-handed batter made his name for the Knight Riders in the 2023 edition when he smacked five sixes to get the required 29 runs off the final over against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The same season saw him clatter 474 runs in 14 matches at 59.25 alongside a strike rate of 149.53. That performance catapulted him to play for the national team and has done exceedingly well for India in T20Is.
Below is the video of the fan's chants at the Eden Gardens:

Ajinkya Rahane to lead Kolkata Knight Riders as defending champions set to be in action on the opening day of IPL 2025
With the Knight Riders not retaining Shreyas Iyer as captain despite the right-handed batter ushering them to a title win last year, Ajinkya Rahane will lead the defending champions this year. Seam-bowling all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer, who played an equally pivotal role in KKR's success last year, has been appointed Rahane's deputy.
The Knight Riders will open their campaign against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 22 at the Eden Gardens itself.
