Mumbai Indians Set for IPL 2025 Opener Against CSK, Hardik Pandya to Miss First Match

Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians are gearing up for the upcoming IPL 2025 season, which kicks off on March 22. After a disappointing run in the previous edition, the team is determined to make a strong comeback in the tournament’s 18th edition.

Mumbai Indians will begin their campaign with a high-voltage clash against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The match will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, March 23, at 7:30 PM (IST).

However, MI will have to play their opening game without regular captain Hardik Pandya. He has been handed a one-match suspension due to repeated slow-over rate violations in IPL 2024. In his absence, either former skipper Rohit Sharma or star batter Suryakumar Yadav is expected to lead the team.
