The role of Nari Shakti (Women Power) in railways is multifaceted and vital to the organization's growth and success. In this sequence, the women ticket checking employees of Western Railway have shown significant strides in dealing with ticketless travel. Nayana Patel, Chief Ticket Inspector/Surat and Malliga, Dy. Chief Ticket Inspector/Dadar are two such staff, who have displayed such exemplary performance. They both have accomplished in securing the highest earnings in ticket checking over non-suburban and suburban sections respectively.

According to a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, women in railways have broken stereotypes and proven themselves. Nayana Patel, a Chief Ticket Inspector, demonstrated exceptional service and performance in 2024, showcasing her determination and ability to work independently with great enthusiasm. Her tireless efforts led to record-breaking ticket checking earnings of around Rs. 33 lakhs by detecting more than 4,470 unauthorized travelers on Western Railway's non-suburban section, while Malliga, Dy. CTI/Dadar, who oversees the suburban section of Western Railway, achieved impressive results from January to December 2024, detecting almost 7,820 cases of ticketless travel and collecting more than Rs. 21.50 lakhs in fines in the calendar year 2024.

Vineet informed that Nayana Patel and Malliga's exceptional dedication, vigilance, and commitment to revenue protection and passenger compliance have set a remarkable example for other lady employees to follow, inspiring them to emulate their outstanding performance and work ethic.
