Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Finance Minister Jagdish Devda announced Madhya Pradesh's budget of Rs 4.21 lakh crore for year 2025-2026. The budget allocation is 13% higher than last year's Rs 3.65 lakh crore.

Highlights:

Key financials of Budget 2025-2026

* The budget estimates a revenue surplus of Rs 618 crore for 2025-26.

* The estimated revenue receipts are Rs 2,90, 879 crores which include the state's own tax revenue of Rs 1,09,157 crore. The state's share in central taxes of Rs 1,11,662 crore, non-tax revenue of Rs 21,399 crores and grants received from the center amounting to Rs 48,661 crores.

* For the year 2025-26, a 7% increase in the state's own tax revenue is estimated compared to the budget estimates for Rs 2024-25.

* In the year 2025-26, a nearly 31% increase in capital expenditure is anticipated compared to the budget estimates for 2024-25.

* Rs 47, 296 crore (23.5%) is allocated for Schedule Tribe.

* Rs 32,633 crores ( 16.2%) is allocated for Schedule Caste.

* In the year 2025-26, capital expenditure is estimated to be 5.02% of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).

* Interest payments in 2025-26 are projected to be 9.84% of total revenue receipts.

* The fiscal deficit is estimated to be 4.66% of the GSDP.

* The allowances for the government employees will be received as per 7th pay commission with effect from April 1, 2025

* Provision of Rs 17,136 crores under Jal Jeevan Mission National Rural Drinking Water Mission.

* Provision of Rs 13, 909 crore under Atal Kisan Jyoti Scheme.

* Provision of Rs 5,500 crore under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.

* Provision of Rs 4,418 crore under National Health Scheme.

* Provision of Rs 2,005 crores for Simhastha 2028.

* Provision of Rs 850 crores for Metro Rail Project.
