Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has called out a film critics who predicted that his upcoming film Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter will be a 'disaster'. For those unversed, the filmmaker recently stated that Bollywood is in 'shambles' and that there are no genuine film critics in the industry these days.

Reacting to Vivek's long post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the film critic wrote from his official account, "No matter if Bollywood is FALLING or RISING, one thing we are pretty sure is that #TheDelhiFiles will be a SURE SHOT SUPER DISASTER."

Tagging Vivek, he further wrote, "And Bollywood is Falling? Meanwhile Bollywood in the last 2 years - #Pathaan, #Jawan, #Gadar2, #Animal, #Stree2 and #Chhaava . Which other Industry has given SIX 500cr films SIR? 2023 - We contributed 65% to Overall gross, 2024 we contributed more than 40% despite TIER 1 Star's films !! 2026 me to fir to aap bahut Preshan honge."

Vivek was in no mood to ignore his post. He replied, "Why would a self proclaimed Film critic/Trade pundit want any film to be a ‘super disaster’? Because the film is on Hindu Genocide of Direct Action Day and this handle is sponsored by ‘you know who?’ The proof is in his paid tweets."

Vivek also shared screenshot of the critic's review of Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor's Nadaaniyaan. While the film has received mixed response from the audience and the actors' performances have been majorly criticised, the critic gave the film 3.5 stars.

A few days back, Vivek made strong statements about the current state of Bollywood. He believes the industry is in trouble, but he sees this as an opportunity for positive change.

In a social media post titled Bollywood Is Falling — and It’s the Best Thing That Could Happen, Vivek said on March 8 that Bollywood is struggling with a lack of fresh ideas, new producers, and passionate filmmakers. He compared the situation to breaking down an old building to make way for a new one.

He pointed out that only a few studios remain, and they are more focused on money and agendas than on making good films. The director also shared concerns about the lack of young talent in Bollywood. He said that many young actors today are more interested in social media than acting. According to him, many of them cannot speak Hindi well or show real emotions on screen.

The filmmaker also said that when newcomers or outsiders are cast, it becomes difficult to get funding for films.

Vivek is often surrounded by controversies due to his strong opinion. The filmmaker never stays behind in voicing his point of view about the latest affairs on social media. He also often gives befitting replies to trolls.

Meanwhile, on the work front, he wrapped up the shoot of The Delhi Files. The film will hit the big screens on August 15, 2025.
