The K-pop industry is in mourning following the tragic passing of renowned singer Wheesung at the age of 43. His agency, Tajoy Entertainment, confirmed the heartbreaking news on March 10, leaving fans and fellow artists in shock. Among those deeply affected by his loss is Solar, the leader and main vocalist of the popular girl group MAMAMOO.
The singer took to her Instagram story to express her sorrow and gratitude for Wheesung's influence on her musical journey. In a touching message, she wrote, "Thank you for making amazing songs and singing them together with us since MAMAMOO's pre-debut days when we knew nothing. I will never forget your incredible music. May you rest in peace."
Take a look at the story:
Wheesung played a significant role in MAMAMOO's early career, collaborating with the group on songs like 'Will' and 'Peppermint Chocolate.' These tracks helped in establishing MAMAMOO’s presence in the K-pop scene during their rookie years.
MAMAMOO, managed by RBW, consists of four members: Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa. They have since gained international recognition for their powerful vocals and dynamic performances.
Wheesung (and K.will) is the one that took part in introducing me to MAMAMOO even before their debut, through this song. I don't really know his songs and how was his career, but one thing I know is he was an amazing singer.
