Palghar, Maharashtra: To mark World Women's Day, a special women's fair and reception were organised by the Health Department of Palghar District Council, in collaboration with the Women and Child Development Department. During the event held at Eco Govardhan Village in Galtare, 90 women were honored for their significant contributions in various fields.
The program was presided over by Bhanudas Palve, Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad, Palghar. Also present were District Health Officer Dr. Santosh Chaudhary, District Surgeon Dr. Marad, Resident Medical Officer Dr. Yogesh Suradkar, District Program Officer Praveen Bhavsar, and other officers from the Women and Child Development Department, along with taluka-level officials. Sunita Palve, wife of Bhanudas Palve, and the wives of other officers were invited as chief guests for the Women's Day celebration.
The Health Department honored women who made significant contributions to health, nutrition, and social welfare. In addition, 15 nurses who performed excellently in the year 2023-24 were awarded the Florence Nightingale Award, and 10 Asha workers who excelled in 2020-23, 2023-24 were given special honors.
The Women and Child Development Department presented the Adarsh Anganwadi Award to honor women working in Anganwadis, with the first prize receiving Rs. 5,000, the second prize Rs. 3,000, and the third prize a certificate. A total of 12 supervisors, 36 Anganwadi workers, and 36 Anganwadi helpers received special recognition.
Nine merit-based awards were given to women in various categories to acknowledge their work quality and contributions. These awards were:

Co-operative: For collaborative spirit.
In total, 90 women were honored by the Health Department, celebrating their dedication and achievements across various sectors.
