Team India skipper Rohit Sharma hilarious retort to journalist went viral during the post-match presser as he addressed reporters after the Men in Blue sealed their third Champions Trophy title. In a video shared on social media, the veteran opener hilariously said, 'Kitna woh lagta hai yeh jeetne ke liye'.

Although Rohit fared well as a skipper throughout the tournament, he hadn't quite delivered with the bat until the night of the final. The 37-year-old stepped up with a swashbuckling 76 and broke the back of the 252-run-chase that New Zealand set India after batting first. With the Asian Giants sealing a nervy four-wicket victory, Rohit also earned the Player of the Match award.

The journalist likely asked if the 50-over World Cup carries the same importance as the Champions Trophy and Rohit said the below in response. It left the reporters in splits:

"Woh 50-over World Cup Gold Cup jaisa hai, lekin isme bhi koi kami nahin hai. Aap mujhe pucho kitna woh lagta hai yeh jeetne ke liye."

(The 50-over World Cup is like Gold Cup for us. But winning the Champions Trophy is no less. You don't know what goes into winning this.)

"I have seen very few teams that have won two tournaments undefeated" - Rohit Sharma

At the post-game presser, the Nagpur-born cricketer said he is proud of how India have gone two tournaments undefeated and hailed their efforts and said, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:

"It is a great team achievement for the team to win two ICC trophies and to go undefeated is the icing on the cake. I have seen very few teams that have won two tournaments undefeated. For us, the most important thing was that we come here and prepared and played the opposition. We used the conditions well and won. Future plan... there's no future plan, whatever is happening will keep happening."

With rumours swirling before the final that the veteran will retire from the ODIs, he also completely shut them down.
