Mumbai: A video allegedly showing a liquor party inside a Shiv Sena office in Chembur, Mumbai, has gone viral on social media, triggering a political controversy. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sunil Prabhu strongly condemned the incident, stating that party offices are like temples for Shiv Sainiks, and holding such activities there exposes the true face of the ruling faction.

Sena UBT Slams Rival Faction Over Viral Video

Shiv Sena UBT posted the viral video on its official account on X, terming it "The limit of shamelessness." The UBT faction accused Shinde Sena of arranging liquor parties at party offices. Further attacking the rival faction, UBT Sena wrote, "The real Shiv Sena's party office is a 'courthouse' & the traitor group's party office is a 'liquor bar'!"

The viral video shows several individuals consuming alcohol inside the Shiv Sena office in Chembur. The controversy intensified as a poster in the background featured prominent figures such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and local MLA Mangesh Kudalkar. The presence of these images while a liquor party was allegedly taking place has further fueled outrage among opposition leaders and party workers.

According to reports, Shiv Sena office-bearers, including branch head Deepak Chauhan and deputy division head Sanjay Kadam, were present at the gathering. The video shows liquor bottles and filled glasses placed on a table. However, FPJ has not independently verified the authenticity of the video.

Reacting to the incident, Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders launched a scathing attack on the ruling faction. Sunil Prabhu criticised the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, accusing them of disrespecting the party's legacy. He stated that such incidents tarnish the party's image and questioned the leadership’s control over its members.

'Action Should Be Taken If Party Offices Are Being Misused': Minister Sanjay Shirsat

Meanwhile, Maharashtra's Social Justice Minister and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat called the incident unfortunate if it indeed occurred as shown in the video. He added that appropriate action should be taken if party offices are being misused, as reported by Zee News Marathi.

The video has sparked a fresh political war between the two factions of Shiv Sena. With elections approaching, the controversy is expected to escalate further, with both sides engaging in heated exchanges and accusations.
