“Ek Divas Gaonkaryan Sobat initiative will be implemented in each village once a week on every Wednesday to take the schemes implemented by the union and state governments to the grassroots level through the field officers of each government department. The initiative will start from February 28,” informed divisional commissioner Dilip Gawade on Tuesday. Deputy commissioner Suresh Bedmutha, Seema Jagtap, and other officers were present.
Briefing the press, Gawade said the innovative project ‘Ek Divas Gaonkaryan Sobat (Gram Darbar Project)’ will be implemented at least in one village of every taluka in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division. MPs, MLAs, freedom fighters, and other eminent residents will be invited during the event. The ZP CEO will distribute the talukas to the heads of various government departments on a rotational basis, and they have been directed to implement the project in at least one village of each taluka. The officers will implement the initiative every Wednesday each week at the village level.
The grampanchayat department officers and employees will do tasks such as checking records, recovering the department, filling out application forms from the beneficiaries of various fields, and more. The agriculture department will work on tasks like crop planning, pest control, fertilizer planning, zero-budget farming, and more. The education department will provide information about school cleaning, water tank cleaning, student progress, kitchen cleaning, and implementing educational projects.
Similarly, the women and child welfare department, health, animal husbandry, social welfare, water supply, sanitary department, and irrigation and water conservation departments will implement various projects and inform the villagers about various government schemes, Gawade mentioned.
The concerned taluka-level officers will submit detailed reports of the various departments to the block development officer on a weekly basis. The block development officer will then direct the departments after reviewing the pending works to be done in the future. He will present the weekly report to the deputy CEO (Panchayat) every Thursday, Gawade said.
