Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 13-year-old student was found hanging at his residence in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on Wednesday. The incident took place at a government housing complex on Ajaypur Road in the Girwai police station area.
As soon as the body was discovered, police was informed about the same. The body has been sent for post mortem. No suicide note has bee discovered yet. Prima facie suggests that parents not providing a mobile phone may be the reason for this extreme step.
According to information, the deceased, identified as Akhand Pratap Singh, was a Class 6 student. On Tuesday night, he watched TV with his family before going to bed. The next morning, on the occasion of Mahashivratri, his father went to wake him up but found him hanging. Shocked, he screamed for help, but by then, Akhand had already passed away.
Police reached the spot and started an investigation. They searched the room but did not find any suicide note. According to family members, Akhand had been asking for a mobile phone for some time, but his parents had refused. Police are considering this as a possible factor in the case.
Parental Separation May Have Affected Mental Health
During the investigation, police learned that Akhand’s parents had been living separately for the past five years. He lived with his father in Gwalior, while his mother resided in Bhind. Officials suspect that this family situation might have impacted his mental health. Police officials stated that the exact reason behind the suicide is still unclear. The body has been sent for postmortem, and further investigation is underway.
