Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Technology companies have committed to investing ₹25,640 crore in Madhya Pradesh and creating over 1.83 lakh job opportunities in Madhya Pradesh, according to an official statement released on Tuesday.
According to PTI, the commitments were secured from 35 firms during the IT and Technology Summit at GIS 2025. "The state secured a total investment of Rs 25,640 crore across various technology sectors, creating approximately 1,83,400 employment opportunities," the Madhya Pradesh government stated.
A significant portion of the investment, i.e. ₹12,350 crore, will come from the electronics manufacturing sector, promising 14,000 jobs. Meanwhile, IT and IT-enabled services (ITeS) firms are expected to generate the highest employment - 93,000 jobs, with a pledged investment of ₹5,500 crore. The global capability centres (GCC) sector is set to receive ₹700 crore, leading to 40,500 jobs.

CM Mohan Yadav highlights state’s growth
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the state's growing appeal to investors, stating, "Madhya Pradesh stands at an exciting juncture, equipped with world-class infrastructure and a skilled talent pool. The big-ticket announcements from companies like Amber, Elcina, Prakhar, STDL, Tholons, Kaynes, Beyond Studioz, and IITI Drishti reflect the growing confidence of investors in the state."
Details of the investors
Among the key announcements, Kaynes Technology pledged ₹352 crore for an SMT manufacturing unit at IT Park, Bhopal, creating 1,650 jobs. Additionally, Studioz committed ₹100 crore to strengthen the AVGC (animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics) sector, generating 2,500 jobs. Additionally, IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation announced a new incubation centre to support startups.
Tholons Inc committed ₹500 crore to GCC investments and an additional Rs 5,000 crore in foreign direct investment (FDI), expected to create 40,000 jobs. Shree Tech Data Ltd allocated ₹4,000 crore for GCC and data centres, leading to 2,000 jobs. Drone firm Prakhar Software Solution Ltd announced a ₹145-crore investment to generate 10,000 jobs.

The electronics industry association ELCINA spearheaded a ₹1,000-1,200 crore push in printed circuit board and electronics manufacturing, which will add 5,000 jobs. Digital Convergence Technologies pledged ₹200 crore to GCC investments, creating 500 jobs, the statement noted.
S Krishnan, Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and IT, underscored the need to focus on job creation and value addition in India's digital economy. "To truly empower India, we must focus not just on digital expansion, but also on creating jobs, value addition, and strengthening the semiconductor supply chain. India's digital economy has grown from 6-7 percent to 13 percent of GDP in a decade. The opportunity to lead in Viksit Bharat 2047 is now," he said.

MoUs signed
Additionally, the state signed key memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with global technology leaders such as IBM, Barclays, Microsoft, VLSI, and L&T EduTech to enhance its IT and electronics ecosystem.
According to the statement, ₹6,800 crore has been committed for data centres by six entities, promising 2,900 jobs, while six firms in the AVGC sector pledged Rs 110 crore, creating 3,000 jobs. Two drone companies will invest ₹180 crore, generating 30,000 jobs in Madhya Pradesh.
