Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Four members of the same family lost their lives, and five others were injured when a tractor-trolley overturned in Bhind district on Tuesday.
A 6-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl died on the spot, while their mother and aunt passed away during treatment at the hospital.
According to information, the family was returning from a ceremony at their daughter's in-laws' house when the accident happened.
The accident took place in Pipahada village under the Mau police station area. Ganga Singh Jatav, a resident of Mathiapura village in Gwalior, had traveled to Pipahada in Jhankari for a family event.
While returning, the trolley’s axle broke near a bridge, causing it to overturn and the tractor to fall into a field. Ganga Singh’s son Aditya (6) and daughter Nandini (9) died on the spot.
Their mother, Asha Devi, and aunt, Sunita Jatav, succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Family member Bunty Jatav said two people are in critical condition and have been admitted to a private hospital.
Jhankari outpost in-charge Vivek Prabhat stated that five people, including Nahar Singh, Nitesh, and Phool Singh, were injured.
They were first taken to a community health center and later referred to Gwalior for advanced treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
