The month of February, the shortest month of the year, is coming to a close; the fiscal year 2024-25 will come to a close on March 2025 as well.
As we look forward to the new fiscal year, FY26 of FY 2025-26, many essential activities concerning business and personal finance arise. As a result of this, banks become a crucial instrument to be set for the new fiscal year.
Are Banks Open Tomorrow?
So are the banks going to have a full-fledged week this week?
The short answer is no. The banks will remain non-operational on Wednesday, February 26, on account of Maha Shivratri.
Maha Shivratri is a major Hindu festival, when devotees worship Lord Shiva.
Banks in Maharashtra and many other parts of the country will be closed on day.
Other holidays in the month are as follows:
Banks in Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram will be closed on February 20, Thursday, as the states celebrate Statehood Day.
Previously, banks were non-operational on February 22 as it would mark the fourth Saturday of the month. Thereafter, banks were closed on Sunday, February 23.
There are no other holidays in the month, as the month will come to a close on Friday, February 28. The new month will see the banks operational on March 1, which would be the first Saturday of the month. This will be followed by the March 2, which will be a Sunday.
What Can Consumers in Need Do?
All banks are expected to be open for virtual business on weekends and other holidays. The banks' services should be accessible on these days.
These services can be accessed through mobile apps and internet websites of the associated banks.
This is the case unless a bank's customers or account holders are specifically informed otherwise.
There is a possibility that some banks will use this period for maintenance work. It is better to communicate with banks and look for messages and other communiqués from banks.
In case of non-availability of virtual services, one must contact their banks.
