Mumbai: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced that the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Botanical Garden and Zoo will remain open for visitors on Wednesday, February 26, on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. However, the zoo will be closed on the next day, Thursday, February 27.

As per the zoo resolution approved by the Mumbai civic body, the zoo is typically closed on Wednesdays. However, since the public holiday falls on Wednesday, the zoo has decided to remain open on February 26. Similarly, on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti 2025, the zoo was open on the public holiday, February 19, and was closed on Thursday, February 20.

Temples to Visit on Maha Shivratri 2025

Mahashivratri is one of the most sacred occasions of the year. This year, the festival of Lord Shiva will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 26. To mark the occasion, here are five Lord Shiva temples in Mumbai.
