Man Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Killing Wife
Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): Manawar's District and Sessions Judge Bhupendra Nakwal sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his second wife in Kharbayadi village of Gandhwani. The incident occurred on October 6, 2021 when accused Sur Singh physically assaulted his wife Gomtibai with a wooden stick over suspicions about her character.
The case revealed a troubled family history, with Sur Singh marrying Gomtibai after death of his first wife Sayribai. According to the couple's son Mukesh, his father frequently argued with his mother.
On the day of the murder, a villager named Dhan Singh informed Mukesh about the incident. Gandhwani police built a strong case by collecting crucial evidence from the crime scene, including blood-stained soil samples, the murder weapon, broken bangles and victim's clothes.
Special Public Prosecutor Ramesh Damar presented evidence and witness testimonies in court. After examining all facts and circumstantial evidence, the court found Sur Singh guilty under Section 302. Along with life sentence, he was ordered to pay a fine of Rs 3k.
Brothers Jailed For Killing Man Over Land Dispute
Kukshi (Madhya Pradesh): Two brothers were arrested and sent to jail for murdering a 48-year-old man over a land dispute in Kukshi. Accused, Nurla Dodve and Pradeep Dodve were apprehended for killing Bhikhu Singh in Konda village.
The case unfolded on February 6 when Bhikhu Singh's body was discovered on a roadside with severe head injuries. Initially investigated as a possible accident, the post-mortem report confirmed death by assault, leading police to register a murder case.
Working with the cyber cell, investigators discovered Nurla's presence at the crime scene. Further investigation revealed that both brothers had attacked the victim with wooden sticks due to an ongoing land dispute. Police recovered murder weapons and a bike used in the crime.
The investigation also exposed Nurla Dodve's criminal history, including six previous cases ranging from assault to illegal weapons possession and molestation. Following their arrest, both brothers were produced in Kukshi court and remanded to judicial custody. SP Manoj Kumar Singh announced rewards for the police team that solved the case.
Woman Jumps In Front Of Moving Train, Dies
Pipalia Mandi (Madhya Pradesh): A woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a DEMU train in Mandsaur district, police said. Police have been unable to identify the victim, despite extensive efforts.
As per reports, the incident occurred near Thador under-bridge at Pipaliya Station when the unidentified woman committed suicide by jumping in front of a DEMU train.
As of now, police have been unable to identify the victim. A mobile phone was recovered at the scene, but its lock could not be opened.
According to Sub-Inspector Shivdatt Yadav, the victim’s face was severely distorted due to the impact, leaving no clear means of recognition. Police were working to determine her identity, but if no progress is made, the body is scheduled to be buried.
