Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Special Protection Group (SPG) has taken over the security arrangements at Manav Sangrahalay and other venues, which are to be visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to city for Global Investors Summit. The SPG officials have reviewed the security arrangements and would take steps to ensure foolproof security of Prime Minister.

The list of persons who will meet PM will also be provided to them. Police officials said besides the security arrangements by SPG, police personnel would be deployed outside Manav Sangrahalay and other venues, which will be visited by the Prime Minister, Minister of Home affairs Amit Shah and other VVIPs.

In fact, multi-layer security arrangements will be in place for which over 5,000 security personnel will be manning the city during the GIS. Over 100 door frame metal detectors will be installed at the venue in addition to over 500 hand held metal detectors that will be used by the security personnel to ensure safety of VVIPs and other guests. A strict watch will be kept on every activity through 500 additional CCTV cameras that have been installed at the venue and other places.

A special team of cops in civil clothes will be active around GIS venue and to keep an eye on suspects while security personnel will also be deployed on high rise buildings close to programme venue and other places, which are to be visited by PM and other VVIPs. Meanwhile, police officials of Bhopal’s neighbouring districts have been put on alert following Prime Minister’s visit. The police in Hoshangabad, Rajgarh, Sehore, Vidisha and Raisen launched check drives at the hotels and lodges to check for suspicious people who may be staying there.
