Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): Datwada village in Thikri janpad panchayat is gripped with fear after leopard cubs were spotted in the area on Thursday. Villagers, already troubled by frequent sightings of wild animals, have raised their concerns with the district administration and forest department. Local resident Mahendra Singh shared that wild animal activity had been a growing issue for over a week.

The old village, surrounded by dense bushes, has become a haven for wildlife, leading to frequent encounters with wild animals. Villager Vikram Singh is irked over the lack of concrete action from authorities despite repeated complaints.

He highlighted additional challenges such as waterlogging and electricity shortages, which compound the problem. Another resident said that one of his cattle was recently attacked by a wild animal. The villagers have resorted to self-protection measures but demand immediate intervention.

Leopard Spotted Near Residential Area

Mandsaur  (Madhya Pradesh): A leopard was spotted near Kitayani and Law College area in Mandsaur city on Wednesday. Divisional forest officer (DFO) Sanjay Raikhere confirmed through CCTV footage and local reports.

A rescue team from forest division is actively searching for the leopard. As per officials, the Revasa Devda forest area is a natural habitat for leopards. It is suspected that the leopard might have entered the residential area in search of food, possibly stray dogs. Residents are urged not to panic and to immediately inform the Forest Rescue Team if the leopard is spotted.
